Finding Kendall (Delta Justice, No 52)
Published in Paperback by Harlequin (November, 1997)
Author: Anne Logan
Average review score:

Delightful sojourn into the mysterious Louisiana swamp
Finding Kendall was delightful. While touching on the mystery of a south Louisiana swamp, it gives the reader a taste of the beauty and serenity of the area. Being a Louisiana native, I am always apprehensive about books/movies about the state, but this one left me wanting more. This is the first Delta Justice book I've read and I look forward to reading the rest.

Fireflies in the Delta
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (April, 2000)
Author: Dan Dane
Average review score:

Chilling story...
The story grabs you and you turn the pages. There are rough spots as one might expect in a first novel without strong editing, but--given the author's intimate involvement in the legal system--one is chilled at the depiction of the law enforcement process as described. I suspect that the truth is closer to the story than we should accept. A casual mention is made of the governor of Arkansas. That would be...?

Gentlemanly Interests and Wealth on the Yangtze Delta (Aas Monograph Series)
Published in Paperback by Assn for Asian Studies (July, 1995)
Author: John Thomas Meskill
Average review score:

A Case Study of Songjiang Prefecture
This book is carefully constructed to provide a case study that can be expanded forlarger implications. Focusing on the Songjiang Prefecture it looks at the economic and social development of one of China's wealthiest regions. The author is aware of the limitations of his study and adresses these to his audience. Most of his sources are primary and his use of secondary sources bolsteres his argument.

History of the Delta, Ohio, area
Published in Unknown Binding by Curtis Media Corp. ()
Average review score:

Surprise, surprise!
I am a history buff, and especially interested in the local history. (I grew up in Delta!) I read this book when it was first published, when I was in high school. It's VERY imformative about early settlers and businesses and has lots of interesting pictures, but seems more like a "brag-book" with the family histories. Local families paid to have their history included (helped fund the book), but some were smaller/unknown families (hard to believe in a town this small!), while the more well-known families weren't included at all. Overall, I wish I could find a copy of this to keep.

Instead of Education (Delta)
Published in Paperback by Delacorte Press (May, 1977)
Author: Holt
Average review score:

Putting education into proper perspective
I read this book when I was in my last year of high school and it helped me to keep a healthy perspective vis a vis education. I ended up being a healthy sceptic of all "authoritative knowledge" "taught" me by my teachers. It also encouraged me to "learn" on my own even after I was done with formal schooling. Must read for people who feel unduly constrained by the educational system.

Manchu Delta
Published in Paperback by Falcon Publishing Company (June, 1986)
Author: Ric Bridwell
Average review score:

A soldiers view of America's most divisive war.
Ric Bridwell has captured the reality of life as an infantry soldier and the experience of close combat from the soldiers' point of view. It belongs in the library of any serious student of America's most divisive conflict because it tells the war in human terms. Manchu Delta chronicles Bridwell's service as a "grunt" in the third platoon of Delta company of the 4th Battalion 9th Infantry Regiment - nicknamed the Manchus. It neither glorifies war nor shies away from recounting those moments when he and his fellow Manchus did truly heroic things. At times the narrative includes too many characters that need better identification, but Manchu Delta rings true to any Vietnam combat veteran. Read it.

Project Delta-A Study of Multiple Ufo
Published in Paperback by LDA PRESS (April, 1994)
Author: Richard F. Haines
Average review score:

Project Delta: Some Thoughts
This book is an interesting compilation of multiple UFO cases from all around the world. The author doesn't seek to explain UFOs, merely to report the facts of each case, and therein lies the book's strength. It is one of the few UFO books that provides ample detail, seemingly credible witnesses, and above all, allows the reader to consider the implications of the evidence for themselves. If there's a fault with the book, it's that it lacks the human component of the phenomenom, an aspect that I consider very significant.

The Queen of Death (Intermediate Level)
Published in Paperback by Delta Systems Co (November, 1999)
Authors: John Milne, John Milner, and Delta Systems Co Inc
Average review score:

The Queen of Death from John Milne
I think the book is especially for young but not advanced readers. Simple vocabulary and sentences are used to relate the story. Despite that, the mistery might interest grown-ups as well. I really enjoyed reading it because the book presents some surprising twists and it has got an exciting plot.
